The Town of Paradise is advising residents that effective 6:00 a.m. Saturday, May 13 to 6:00 a.m. Monday, May 15 Topsail Road will be closed at the Christopher Street Bridge to facilitate replacement of the bridge. For this portion of the project only, work will be ongoing continuously for 48 hours to enable the bridge replacement. This work is part of the Topsail Road Phase IV project.
For the duration of road closure, all traffic must detour through St. Thomas Line, Lanark Drive and Glendarek Drive (see map for detour route).
The Town has several traffic calming measures in place along the detour route, including:
placing large traffic pylons along detour route,
installing temporary speed bumps in the detour route,
increasing monitoring of construction site and detour route by Town officials and Municipal Enforcement, and
liaising with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary to increase patrols in the area.
During construction, the public is reminded to proceed with caution and to reduce speeds in construction zones and detour routes.
The Town of Paradise apologizes for the inconvenience this road work may cause. For more information about road work please visit: www.townofparadise.ca/roads
