The Town of Paradise announced today that work on a major road upgrade project will begin next week. The work includes changing the intersection of Topsail Road and McNamara Drive into a roundabout along with road upgrades and sewer system work in the area.
“We are committed to maintaining and enhancing the transportation system throughout the Town of Paradise,” said Mayor Dan Bobbett. “Over the past number of years, we have made considerable investment in our road network, all with the goal of having an efficient and effective flow of traffic throughout Paradise. Installing a roundabout at Topsail Road and McNamara Drive is our latest investment and once completed, it will greatly improve the traffic flow in the area and throughout Town.”
The road work will begin Monday, September 10 and will continue through to the end of this year’s construction season. Construction work is scheduled to occur from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday to Friday and every second Saturday. During this project, efforts will be made to minimize impacts on traffic flow, especially during peak morning and evening traffic times.
This road project also includes upgrades to Clearview Heights, and that portion will be completed in the 2019 construction season. “We really wanted to have the upgrades to Clearview Heights completed this year, however due to a number of factors it’s is just not possible. It will be completed next Spring,” explained Mayor Bobbett.
During construction, the public is reminded to use caution in area. “We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this work and we ask for our residents to have understanding and patience during construction work. Once completed, the Topsail Road Roundabout will bring further improvements to our road network and transportation system, which will benefit all residents in Paradise,” said Mayor Bobbett.
